Celebrating Sir John Betjeman’s birthday

Today marks the birthday of Sir John Betjeman – poet, broadcaster, and great champion of Britain’s railways.

On his journey from King’s Lynn to Hunstanton in 1962, he paused right here at Snettisham Station.

Decades on, our Old Station still carries that same charm – a place to pause, linger, and soak up the Norfolk light.

We couldn’t help but smile at this video’s attempt to pronounce “Hunstanton” adding much more amusement on the various pronunciations – Sir John would have put him right!
